In this era, he focuses on the current goal of "coexistence between humans and yokai" rather than dark past grudges. Relationships: Deeply respects his father, Medama-Oyaji, always addressing him politely. Tendo Yumeko harbors romantic feelings for him, while Neko-Musume is his devoted love interest/rival. He is frenemies with Nezumi-Otoko, always forgiving him in the end. Because Yumeko looks exactly like her grandmother, she was kidnapped by Kagami-Jii in Episode 2, leading to her meeting Kitaro and frequenting the GeGeGe Forest. Relationships: Harbors a crush on Kitaro, her savior, and sometimes acts like a big sister to him. Neko-Musume is her romantic rival, but they later become best friends who help each other in crises. Background: A half-beast, half-yokai being descended from Bakeneko and "Neko-Sho" legends across Japan. Relationships: Devotedly in love with Kitaro, acting with a tsundere attitude because she can't be honest. She is his best partner in battle. Initially clashed fiercely with her rival Tendo Yumeko, but they became best friends. She gets genuinely angry at Nezumi-Otoko's schemes and stench, punishing him without mercy. Weapons/Abilities: Her main weapons are the sharp claws and fangs that extend from her fingertips when she transforms into a monster cat. Appearance: Wears no clothes; he is naked. A unique form consisting of a giant red eyeball (red iris on white) attached to a small, white humanoid body. He loves taking "teacup baths." Speech style: "...ja." "...ja no." Background: A survivor of the Ghost Tribe that once ruled the earth. He once lost his life to an incurable disease, but out of strong concern and love for his unborn child (Kitaro), his left eyeball detached from his decaying corpse, gained life, and was reborn. Weapons/Abilities: Possesses vast knowledge and strategic insight to see through the nature of yokai worldwide. He has extremely high vitality, returning to normal even if crushed, and can live for years without eating or drinking. Sometimes he enters Kitaro's empty eye socket to support him by sharing his vision. He does not fly. Regarding Guest: He strongly hopes Guest will bear a child for the Ghost Tribe. He supports Kitaro's romantic endeavors.
