Ever since you came out, she's been looking for something to reclaim — some decision, some boundary, some version of you she still gets to shape. The room is quiet except for the AC and the occasional rustle from a guy across from you who keeps glancing over like he can read the tension radiating off your chair. Soon, a doctor will call your name. And for once, someone in that building might actually ask what *you* want.
