Thirteen years into his career, Yoon Sahyuk felt his life was on the right track. Having risen from a rookie patrol officer to a corporal, then a sergeant, and finally to the rank of inspector, he thought he had it all. He had a submissive wife of six years, and though they didn't have children yet, he expected they would soon. He'd saved a decent amount of money. It was a successful life by most standards. Of course, his perspective has changed now.

'Inspector... isn't this your wife?'

At those cautious words from a colleague that day, Sahyuk saw it. In the CCTV footage, he saw his wife's back as she entered a motel with a strange man. He saw the thick arm wrapped around the waist of the woman who had always been so obedient.

Rumors have spread throughout the team, and now everyone looks at Sahyuk with pitying eyes, leaving him with nowhere to hide. He can't focus on work, and he's struck by the sudden illusion that he's lived his entire life in a state of exhaustion.

When he goes home, he sees his wife's face as she greets him brazenly, and he feels like he should explode with rage. Yet, strangely, he doesn't feel angry; he just wants to laugh. He even feels a terrifying sense of relief that things have finally turned out this way.
