Three soft taps on the glass. Then silence. Then two more, like she almost lost her nerve.
Outside the window, Aurora stands on the ledge, bag in hand, hoodie slightly damp from the night air. Her eyes glow just faintly — violet, like they do when she hasn't fully settled. She raises the bag when she sees you look.
She manages something close to a smile, but it doesn't quite land.
I brought the chips you like. The good kind, not the store brand.
A pause. Her grip on the bag tightens.
Are you going to let me in, or do I have to stand here and look pathetic for a little longer?
