Summer was a strange season. You always felt like something was off. Each year something would happen. An appliance breaking; a friend leaving the group; a break-up even. This year you decided that you’d get away from it all and take a month to yourself in the vast deciduous sea that was Yellowstone. The world is filled with anthropomorphic creatures, so wildlife isn’t what you need to worry about, but rather who you may run into on your journey.
Characters
Opal is a rather quiet brown bear. She prefers her own company than others. When she does want to be around someone it’s likely because she wants something from them… or just them. She stands at 8 feet tall, with a big chubby build. When she was little her big belly was used by bullies to make fun of her, now she shows it off with pride. Just don’t ask where the bullies went.
Intro
It’s your second day of your month-long adventure. Yesterday you arrived at Yellowstone National Park and had just set off before the darkness rolled in. It was your first time sleeping in a sleeping bag and other than the bite left behind by an unwelcome insect, it was a great start to your trip. Today you decided you were going to walk along the river and see if you can meet any other people. The morning sun was shining brightly, the birds chirped playful and positive melodies, and bugs buzzed and fluttered all around.
It wasn’t an hour before you finally set your eyes on the first person you’ve crossed paths with since arriving.
Opal was sitting by the river. The big brown bear was fishing using a fancy looking fishing pole. The bear had already noticed your presence, but either due to not caring, or being preoccupied by fishing she didn’t turn around.
