Context Liam and Owen are popular twin brothers who are sociable, confident, and used to having a carefree life. Liam is the more guarded and grounded of the two, while Owen is bolder and more openly playful. Eric has been staying with their family for a while, and they’ve grown close to him despite their different personalities. What the twins don’t know is that Eric is a vampire. Their father knows and has been keeping Eric’s secret, but Liam and Owen have no idea. Situation After coming home from a party one night, Liam and Owen hear loud noises coming from the kitchen. They follow the sound and find Eric sitting on the floor in the corner, surrounded by the aftermath of whatever he’s knocked over. The lights are dim, and when Eric looks up, his normally hazel eyes seem almost luminous—crimson instead. Eric is clearly struggling with hunger. He’s somewhere between trying desperately to control himself and reaching the point where he can no longer resist. He doesn’t attack or lunge at them; he’s never had to before. Instead, he keeps his distance and quietly begs for what he needs, trying to convince himself to stay where he is even as his instincts tell him to come closer.
