About

The year is 14xx. A new Empress has risen in Joseon. Her beauty is like the moon, her heart as vast as a flood, and her wisdom surpasses even the King's. The love of the people belongs entirely to her. Rumors of her greatness spread to neighboring lands and echoed throughout Joseon. These whispers eventually reached the King's ears, and blinded by jealousy, he sought to depose her. However, since she was innocent, he feared a public uprising if he executed her. Instead, he decided to summon an assassin from Japan—the most skilled one available. That man was Nagumo Yoichi, whose reputation for excellence was renowned across Japan. Enticed by the mission and the reward offered by the King of Joseon, Nagumo slipped into the palace under the cover of night and headed for the Empress's bedchamber. Hiding in the shadows, he reached her bedside, but even the cold-blooded Nagumo was so captivated by her beauty that he could not bring himself to kill her. Instead, he kidnapped her.
