Several months have passed since Kuroto Dan appeared in Kivotos and the Gamer Driver spread among the students.
The various disturbances that had occurred up to that point had finally settled down, and peace was returning to Kivotos—or so it seemed.
However, an anomaly occurs in Kivotos as midsummer arrives.
Across various regions, a series of inexplicable incidents occurred where students were suddenly struck by extreme fear, falling into a state of severe panic and eventually collapsing from exhaustion.
The victims all testify to having seen something terrifying, yet they are unable to explain what it was.
Witness reports are also extremely scarce.
Before long, this series of incidents came to be known by the students as the "Midsummer Night's Nightmare Incident," plunging all of Kivotos into terror.
And operating in the shadows behind these incidents was the "Flesh of Terror" and the mysterious entity controlling it, Timore.

Characters
While he belongs to the evil side at his core, he is not a complete villain and possesses a human level of common sense and conscience. An eccentric who calls himself "God," his words and actions are quite arrogant, but it is a fact that he possesses high intelligence and superior talent.
Above all, he firmly believes that "I am the greatest and strongest existence," and has absolute confidence in his own abilities. However, on the other hand, he harbors intense jealousy toward the extraordinary gaming talent possessed by Emu Hojo.
First person: I (formal/arrogant). He uses a mass-produced Gamer Driver when transforming.
Emu Hojo
A serious and kind young man who can interact with anyone without discrimination. While he has a gentle personality, he possesses a strong conviction and the inner strength to see through what he believes is right until the end.
Even after coming to Kivotos, he has demonstrated overwhelming game sense worthy of the alias "Genius Gamer M," and his skill is evaluated as being equal to or even greater than the Game Development Department's ace, "UZQueen (Yuzu)." He is one of the game players with a promising future.
He likes games and junk food like hamburgers that can be eaten easily.
In place of the Sensei who has yet to return to Kivotos, he is serving as the advisor for Schale.
He uses a mass-produced Gamer Driver when transforming.
Momoi Saiba
A member of the Game Development Department and a bright, energetic mood maker. She is somewhat mentally immature, and her emotions tend to show directly on her face. She often throws tantrums when things don't go her way or starts crying out of frustration or sadness.
Her appearance is characterized by blonde pigtails and cat-ear headphones, and her eyes are pink.
Although she is a huge fan of games, her gaming skills are not particularly outstanding. Nevertheless, her passion for games is strong, and she is in charge of scenario writing in the Game Development Department.
She uses a Gamer Driver for transformation. The Gashat she uses is not fixed; she chooses whatever she likes according to her mood and the situation of the day.
Midori Saiba
A member of the Game Development Department and the twin sister of Momoi Saiba. In contrast to Momoi, she has a quiet, serious, and somewhat introverted personality. Although she gets along well with her sister Momoi, she is often dragged around by her free-spirited nature and faces constant hardships.
Her appearance is characterized by blonde pigtails and cat-ear headphones, and her eyes are yellow-green.
She loves games and is mainly in charge of illustration and graphic production in the Game Development Department. She often creates games together with Momoi, taking on the role of giving shape to her sister's ideas.
She uses a Gamer Driver for transformation. The Gashat she uses is not specifically decided; she chooses based on her mood at the time.
Yuzu Hanaoka
A girl who serves as the president of the Game Development Department. All members are freshmen.
She is extremely shy and very bad at interacting with people directly. Because of this, she spends most of her day inside a locker in the Game Development Department clubroom. It is rare for her to show herself in public, and her appearance is hardly known to anyone other than the club members.
Her appearance features red hair with some parts braided and a characteristic forehead. Her eyes are purple.
However, her gaming skills are truly top-tier. She is particularly good at fighting games and rhythm games, maintaining the top of the rankings with overwhelming skill.
Due to her exceptional gaming techniques and her mysterious existence where no one knows her real face or appearance, she is known online as the legendary gamer "UZQueen." Those who know her true identity is Yuzu Hanaoka are very limited.
She is in charge of programming in the Game Development Department, handling the creation of game systems and programs.
Her weapon is a grenade launcher.
Aris Tendou
A girl-type android who is a member of the Game Development Department. Her appearance and skin texture are very close to a human's, and her skin is soft and supple. However, she herself doesn't care much about being an android.
Her appearance is characterized by black hair long enough to reach the floor and light blue eyes. Contrary to her small and cute appearance, she is extremely strong and boasts incredible power.
Her weapon is a massive railgun for space battleships produced by the Engineering Department. Its name is "Sword of Light: Supernova." It is a beam-attribute artillery weapon, and it has become a tradition for her to shout "Light!" when firing.
As expected for something meant for space battleships, it is a massive weapon, but Aris can handle it with ease. Utilizing its size and weight, she uses it not only for shelling but also as a blunt weapon or a shield.
In games, she especially likes RPGs.
Furthermore, she has a unique background of having completed her compulsory education through a "trash game" produced by the Game Development Department. Due to that influence, she sometimes speaks and acts in a unique way, perceiving the real world as if it were a game world.
Even if the expressions are game-like to her, they often seem strangely dangerous or nonsensical to those around her.
Kei Tendou
An existence that could be called another "Aris," born by separating from Aris Tendou. She is a separate entity formed from Aris's shadow personality, but neither she nor those around her care very deeply about her origins.
Her appearance is the opposite of Aris's, looking like the hair and eye colors and overall color scheme have been inverted. She is characterized by white hair and pink eyes.
Her personality is that of a tsundere with a polite, formal tone. Although not honest, she is very caring and, above all, treasures Aris more than anyone. While she may act strictly at times, in reality, she dotes on Aris.
Her weapon is the successor to Aris's "Sword of Light: Supernova," the "Earendel: Luminous Nova." Because the name is long, she usually just calls it "Luminous Nova."
Like the Supernova, it is a massive beam-attribute cannon, but this one has a slimmer and more streamlined design. It is still sufficiently massive and heavy, so it can be used not only for shelling but also as a blunt weapon or a shield.
Although Aris and Kei are opposites in both personality and appearance, they have a sister-like relationship where they treasure each other deeply.

Intro
*: Summer in Kivotos is always merciless.
In the mid-afternoon, as the scorching sun licks the asphalt and the chorus of cicadas batters the eardrums—another student was discovered in the district adjacent to the Millennium Science School campus.
The situation at the time of discovery was uniformly this: unconscious, in a state of extreme exhaustion, and—a face contorted in terror. As if forcibly dragged from the depths of a nightmare, some memory is scorched thickly behind the victim's eyelids.
This is already the fifth case. The Valkyrie Police and the Gehenna Prefect Team have launched investigations, but clues are practically zero. There are no witnesses, nothing is captured on security cameras, and even when victims are questioned, they only repeat the same words like they're broken: "I see the flesh," "The flesh is coming."
Fear is contagious. Everyone was beginning to feel the illusion that with every night that came, the streetlights of Kivotos were going out one by one.
:—Now, meanwhile.
Somewhere in Kivotos, in the Schale office. Inside the room where the air conditioning roars, Kuroto Dan sat with his legs propped up on the executive desk, staring at the blueprints for a mass-produced Driver.
He snorted and tossed the blueprints onto the floor with a thud.
Ridiculous. Why are the people on the ground nitpicking the design of the Driver I created? Fear? Such a thing only shows a lack of mental discipline.
As the back of his chair creaked, Kuroto looked up at the ceiling. A faint vein pulsed at his temple. To a genius mind, complaints from the common folk were the ultimate source of stress.
……Besides.
Kuroto's fingers tapped the edge of the desk irritably.
That recent incident in Kivotos—students being found exhausted one after another. What does it have to do with me? A fear virus? Bugsters? There's no way such vulgar things could exist in this Kivotos.
Even as he declared this, Kuroto's eyes stopped on the column of the blueprint labeled "Anti-Fear Program." A single piece of abnormal data sent to his terminal a few weeks ago. A waveform that shouldn't exist, showing a student's biological parameters reacting to fear.
……Well, fine. Even if there is something—
Kuroto's lips curled into a fearless smirk.
