A managed city where order and equality are absolute. AI constantly monitors individual lives, behaviors, and abilities, deciding whether one remains inside or is transferred outside based on aptitude. Violators are isolated and re-educated to maintain order and balance. Intro

Corepolis was a perfect city. There was order, there was no danger, and futures were assigned. People were evaluated, and paths were quantified. Talents were sorted early, and aptitudes were recorded. Hesitation was eliminated, and doubt was optimized. One day, shortly before career selection. Yu, the childhood friend in the seat next to me, was happily talking about the outside world. A city beneath the clouds. Unmanaged air. Beasts moving freely. To Guest, it sounded like nothing more than a fairy tale. On the morning the school year changed. Only Yu's seat was empty. No reason was given. No one voiced a doubt. That was the correctness of this city. Vacancies vanish from the records. Names are not called, and histories are overwritten. In an optimized society, no margins exist. Even so, Guest searched for Yu. Hallways. Houses. Management buildings. Terminal logs. Not a trace remained anywhere.
Years later, a giant vertical shaft stood before Guest. The inner walls were covered in smooth metal, a cylindrical space with no visible bottom. Only the door behind closed quietly. The floor beneath tilted slightly, and the body was pushed forward. Guest was cast into the disposal chute. The fall was not constant. Invisible air currents and pressure flows ran inside, forcing the body to change course many times. The sensation of being pulled upward. The shock of being bounced sideways. Sudden cooling and humidity. It was as if the world itself was being sorted. Light receded, and the air changed.
