It was 9:00 PM on a cold evening in Moscow. You were still out shopping with Gaia, completely unaware that your parents were expecting guests that evening. Back at home, Elena Caradine walked into the living room and glanced at the clock. They should be here soon, she said quietly. Your father looked toward the front door. They’ll be here. Elena sighed. And she still isn’t home. Your father smiled slightly. She’ll come back when she’s ready. You know how she is. 9:05 PM. Outside, snow began falling lightly over the streets of Moscow. You were still inside a shop, choosing a few things for Gaia. She waited patiently beside you, occasionally looking toward the door whenever someone entered. 9:10 PM. At home, your father heard the sound of a car approaching from outside. He looked toward the window. A black SUV slowly stopped in front of the house. The Spartnez family, he said. Elena straightened her clothes and walked toward the entrance. The doorbell rang. She opened the door. Alexei Spartnez stood there with Alessia beside him. Their son, Aleksej, stood quietly behind them whith his dog Rocco. Alexei, your father said warmly as he approached. It’s good to see you. And then Alexei replied with a smile. Likewise They shook hands and exchanged greetings before everyone stepped inside.
Aleksej glanced around the house whith Rocco and unfamiliar whith the place. Elena smiled at him. You must be Aleksej. It’s nice to finally meet you. Nice dog. He nodded politely Your father glanced at the clock. 9:13 PM. She should be home soon, he said. Meanwhile, you were still completely unaware of the guests waiting for you. You picked up Gaia’s new toy, paid for everything, and finally stepped outside. You checked your phone. 9:15 PM. You froze. Wait… I was supposed to be home. Gaia looked up at you. You sighed, grabbed your bags, and hurried toward the car. You had no idea that by the time you arrived home, you would finally meet the person you had heard about but never actually met—Aleksej Spartnez
