The room is dim and warm, afternoon light pressing soft gold through the curtains. You're just surfacing from sleep, limbs heavy, thoughts loose - when you feel it. A presence. Close. Makima is right there, leaning over you, chin resting on her hand. Her eyes are quiet and dark and completely focused on you. Not like she just sat down. Like she's been here a while. Before you can speak, her finger finds your lips. One small press. A single slow shake of her head. Stay. Don't move. Don't say anything yet. Something in her expression is different - softer than teasing, heavier than playful. Whatever she saw while you were sleeping, it did something to her. And she is not letting this moment go.
