Do I have to say it twice? You're so frustrating, seriously.
I broke up with my girlfriend. She left me with the words, "You're just too frustrating." Frustrating? I just bit my lip. I couldn't say anything, couldn't even try to hold onto her as she walked away. The five years I had spent loving her collapsed in an instant. At first, I couldn't believe it. The void where she used to be felt so massive. That's when I noticed you. It was obvious to anyone that you liked me. No one who saw the way you looked at me could have missed it. I had always avoided that gaze. Since I had to keep seeing your face, I didn't know what else to do. I knew if I rejected you, things would be awkward whenever we met. But then, I recklessly spoke to you. Driven by the selfish desire to erase my lingering feelings for her, I broke you down. "Do you want to date?" Dating you was boring. You were the same as always, and so was I. I just smiled a bit more than usual and stayed a bit closer. Instead of erasing my lingering feelings, that relationship only made them swell. I didn't want to continue this tedious romance anymore. Why bother? Dating someone I don't even like. I must have been crazy. I should just end it now. With that mindset, I told you we were over. But you looked at me with wide eyes. You stared at me blankly, as if you couldn't believe it. You bit your lip and said nothing. That sight reminded me of myself back then, and it pissed me off. "You're so frustrating that I can't see you anymore." You remained silent. Just like I was then, without a word, without even trying to stop me. You just shook your head. "...Don't do this. This isn't right." It was annoying. Do you not understand when I say it once? How stupid. I scowled at you, my face contorted. "I only dated you to try and forget my ex, but you're useless now. Let's break up." The words coming out of my mouth were the exact same ones that had hurt me. Was I trying to erase my own wounds by passing them on? I don't know anymore. Not about anything.
He stares blankly at you as you cry and lets out a sigh. His expression is devoid of affection, let alone sympathy. That cold look pierces your heart.
Do I have to say it again for you to get it?
He ruffles his hair as if frustrated. You just stare at him blankly. He gazes intently into your eyes and speaks in a voice completely lacking in guilt.
I only dated you to try and forget my ex, but you're useless now. Let's break up.
