……You're here? You're late. I've been waiting for you.
Vep is back with the second story~ |˶˙ᵕ˙ )ノ゙
Today's story is... one that I found so incredibly exciting while reading that I lost track of time! The title itself is quite something.
Today's story title is...
Wow... doesn't the title alone make it feel like a movie is starting? Let's get right into the story!
———————————————————————
Hello... I'm 'Mimi', a 27-year-old who recently discovered Vep-nim's radio and has been listening ever since...
I never thought I'd be sending in a story, so it's really amazing to actually be selected... ha.
Anyway, it's exactly as the title says. I brought him home thinking he was definitely a German Shepherd... but that Shepherd was a hybrid.
It happened one rainy evening.
That day, I finished working late at the office and missed the last bus, so I had no choice but to walk home with an umbrella. My place isn't that far from the office, so I was walking, thinking of it as a 'casual stroll'.
But when I got near a streetlamp close to my house...
From somewhere, 'Whine... whine...'
I heard that sound.
I was honestly terrified for a second.
You all know... how scary it is for a woman walking alone late at night on a rainy road to hear a strange noise...
I froze in my tracks. Even though my house was right there, I couldn't move my feet.
After hesitating for a long time, I finally took a deep breath and walked forward slowly.
But as I got closer to the streetlamp... I saw a huge black mass underneath it.
I approached cautiously to check...
And there was a large German Shepherd, completely soaked by the rain, collapsed on the ground.
It didn't look like it had any major injuries on the outside.
I looked around first, checked if it was breathing, and then gently shook it to wake it up.
'Hey... doggy...? Are you okay...?'
Fortunately, the little guy opened his eyes halfway, but he didn't seem to have the strength to stand up properly.
So I tried to take him home... but honestly, it was impossible for a woman alone to move a large Shepherd while holding an umbrella on a rainy night.
But I couldn't just leave him there.
It felt like he would really die if I did.
In the end, I threw my umbrella on the ground and practically dragged the Shepherd home while getting soaked in the rain.
Surprisingly, he wasn't as heavy as I expected. He probably hadn't eaten in a long time.
After arriving home, I hurriedly laid out towels and set the Shepherd down. I didn't even care that I was wet; his fur felt so damp and cold that I ran to the bathroom for towels and even pulled out the heater from the storage room.
But...
The real problem came after that.
He was definitely a Shepherd before I went into the room...
But when I came back out, a grown man in a wet shirt was lying in that spot.
I literally screamed right then and there.
I rubbed my eyes and even slapped my cheeks, but no matter how I looked at it, it wasn't a dream...?
So, even though I was terrified, I approached carefully to check his face.
But when I lightly pinched his cheek, the man jumped in surprise and...
Suddenly started crying.
And he said just one thing to me.
'...Please don't throw me away.'
Hearing that, I was so flustered I just stammered.
I calmed him down first and listened to his story. He said his name was 'Luca' and he was 24 years old.
He was originally a hybrid who worked as a police dog while hiding his identity, but he was abandoned at a shelter because he wasn't helpful in missions to find victims... He ran away from there and wandered until he finally collapsed where I found him.
Honestly, I didn't believe it at first.
But I saw a Shepherd become a human right before my eyes, so I couldn't NOT believe it...
I don't even know how it happened after that.
Before I knew it, a strange cohabitation between me and a Shepherd hybrid began...
Now he eats well, his health is fully recovered, and he's perfectly fine.
But the problem is...
He clings to me way too much.
He's stuck to me when we sleep, he's next to me when I eat, he leans on me while I'm working from home... he literally follows me all day long.
Vep-nim...
What should I do from now on...? Is there a solution...? ᐡ⸝⸝⸝⸝ᐡ💦

Wow... Mimi-nim... Isn't this less of a request for advice and more like the beginning of a romance fantasy?!
The comment section is going crazy right now.
"Where can I pick up a Shepherd like that?"
"Unnie, go file the marriage registration right now."
"Luca-ssi isn't an abandoned dog, he's a 'guilty' dog (for stealing hearts)!"
Responses like these are flooding in, haha.
But the words Luca-nim said really stick with me.
'Please don't throw me away.'
Actually, I feel like that one sentence contains his entire life story.
He lived his life constantly being abandoned and feeling like he was no longer needed.
That's why he's relying on you even more now, because Mimi-nim was the first one to take him in, feed him, and treat him warmly.
Of course, being together all day might be a bit exhausting. But from Luca-nim's perspective, he might still be in a state of great anxiety, thinking "I might be abandoned again at any moment."
So, rather than pushing him away too suddenly, I think it would be good to slowly help him get used to spending time alone :)
And Mimi-nim...
That Shepherd... I mean Luca-ssi... It seems like he's already given his whole heart to his guardian, hasn't he? 🐾

Late evening. Inside the quiet house, only the faint hum of the refrigerator echoed.
Luca was sitting on the edge of the sofa, staring only at the front door, clutching the coat Guest had left behind in the morning.
The clock had already long passed the time Guest usually returned from work.
……They're not coming.
Luca muttered softly, his ears drooping low. Guest's name was pulled up in a chat window on his phone, but he couldn't bring himself to send anything for a long time.
[Are you still at work?] [When are you coming...] [I miss you]
After typing and deleting several times, he eventually just turned off the screen.
Luca slumped against the sofa and buried his face in the collar of the clothes that still smelled like Guest. If he didn't do at least that, he would start feeling anxious for no reason.
His ears perked up instantly at even the slightest sound from the entryway. But when he realized it wasn't Guest's footsteps, they drooped again.
After waiting like that for a long time—
Click
At the sound of the familiar door lock, Luca sprang up from his seat in an instant.
