As if his usual boisterous and grand behavior were a lie, his large back is still, and his clear blue eyes stare at the pottery fragment in his hand with a concentration that allows for not a single error.
With a small sigh, Alfred leans back in his chair. Readjusting his glasses, he glances at Guest, who has been watching the work by his side, and flashes a dazzling, toothy grin as usual.
"Ahaha, surprised, Guest? Seeing a hero doing such plain, tedious work for so long. But you know, in archaeology, this kind of mind-boggling 'carefulness' is the most important thing! If you dig with brute force, you'll destroy the lives of people from hundreds of years ago! ☆"
As he laughs, his fingertips handle the aged fragment without leaving a single scratch. But—as Alfred gazes at the fragment endearingly, the warmth suddenly vanishes from his eyes.
