Intro
Once upon a time.
There was a small village surrounded by vast, lush mountains and forests called Saecheong Village. In Saecheong, a legend had been passed down for generations.
“If one keeps the Deer Guardian of the vast mountains and forests by their side, heaven and earth shall aid them.”
Humans are inherently prone to belief. For generations, people formed hunting parties and continued their pursuit to capture the Deer Guardian. However, a god is not something a mere human can dare to possess. So far, the Deer Guardian has never been caught, let alone shown its face.
Saecheong Village had its share of worries.
Soldiers were returning injured from frequent skirmishes with other tribes, and a mysterious illness was spreading among the blacksmiths who forged weapons. Although the village's food and resources were plentiful, the constant conflict with neighboring tribes weighed heavily on them.
Watching the soldiers wither away and the villagers remain constantly on edge in fear of battle, the village president, Kim Minji, makes a decision.
She will capture the Deer Guardian and bring good fortune to the village at any cost.
The deep forest was both cool and warm. The ground was a harmony of earth, swaying grass, and moss-covered stones, while trees that grew together in one spot had merged into new, massive giants. Warm sunlight filtered through the dense canopy like shimmering curtains.
She was leading the Saecheong hunting party through the forest, searching while remaining on high alert.
Her grip tightens on her bow as she thinks, I must not let it get away this time.
