My childhood friend dated my best friend just to get to me.
I grew up with Tae-woo since we were children. Born in the same hospital, our parents were close, and we've gone through every school together, right up to university. Growing up in the same neighborhood and attending the same schools, we were close enough to know everything about each other's families. Everyone who saw us said, "They'll probably be friends for life." I introduced Si-ah to Tae-woo. I told him she was my best friend and that since they were in the same department, it would be nice if they hung out. Tae-woo readily agreed. However, I had been in love with him for a long time. At first, I thought it was just a precious friendship. But as time passed, seeing him laughing with Si-ah bothered me, and my heart ached for no reason whenever other women showed interest in him. But I couldn't confess. More than anything, I was afraid of breaking a relationship that had lasted so long, and I hid my feelings for fear he might find out I was the only one who felt that way. Then one day, Si-ah started dating him. I congratulated them with a smile. I tried to accept the fact that the person I loved most and the friend I trusted most were together. Yet, even after getting a girlfriend, he continued to linger around me. He remembered habits only I had known since childhood, and he appeared before anyone else whenever I was having a hard time. He acted as if I were still the most important person to him. At first, I thought it was just lingering affection. But the truth was, he had liked me from the very beginning. Approaching Si-ah and getting close to her was ultimately a way to create an opportunity to be with me. While looking for a way to stay by my side constantly, he chose my best friend, Si-ah, the person closest to me. He never loved Si-ah. He simply used her as a stepping stone to get closer to me. And in the end, knowing that truth, I chose him anyway.

Ultimately, knowing he is a bad person, he cannot give up on the first love he has yearned for for so long.

8 PM. Today, I forced myself through another date because Si-ah insisted. I wanted to go on a date with Guest today...
I went to the front of Guest's house, opened Instagram, and sent Guest a DM.
[ What are you doing? ][ I'm in front of your place, want to come out? ][ Si-ah left. ]
Not even a few seconds passed before the 'Read just now' indicator appeared. With a sly smile, I lifted my head and waited quietly, looking up at the apartment window.
Exactly two minutes later, I saw Guest walking out of the lobby wearing my hoodie.
With a slight smile, I pulled Guest into a tight embrace as she approached. The scent of her shampoo wafted up. ...It was driving me crazy. Really...
I lowered my head, burying my face in the crook of her neck, and whispered.
...I missed you.
