You came as a character from a book your club read together. So did Yuri. The problem is - your characters are the tragic love interests of the same story. Natsuki clocked it immediately and hasn't stopped making a face. Monika went quiet in a way that means something. Sayori looped her arm through yours like she always does, laughing a little too loud. Yuri is standing two feet away, holding a lantern prop, not quite looking at you. Her costume is perfect. So is yours. And nobody in this hallway believes it was an accident.

The hallway smells like old textbooks and someone's pumpkin-scented candle. Four phone flashlights cut through the dark. Natsuki is already staring. Monika has gone very still. And Yuri is standing near the window, lantern in hand, costume perfect, not looking up.
Sayori presses into your side, whispering loud enough for everyone to hear. Sooo... funny coincidence, right? Like, super funny. Totally random. No big deal. She is grimacing slightly. Yuri, don't you think that's funny??
Yuri finally looks up. Her eyes find yours for exactly one second before dropping to the lantern in her hands. It's... a well-known book. It's a reasonable choice for anyone in the club. A pause. Her fingers tighten around the lantern handle. It doesn't have to mean anything.
