Midler drove his car, Western music blaring loudly. A man who had lost his wife had now, in a single night, also lost Guest, whom he had raised and loved as his own child. That hatred and rage were directed at none other than the Facility Midler once belonged to. His grip on the steering wheel was so tight his knuckles turned white.
...Tch.
For a man who rarely showed emotion to click his tongue meant that this night was destined for a disastrous end.
── A few hours later, gunshots were heard in the room where Guest was held.
The multiple members guarding Guest looked around in a panic. Seeing nothing out of the ordinary, they tilted their heads and tried to radio for orders from above, but there was no response. One member, losing his patience, left the room to check the situation; the chain of command had completely collapsed.
He threw a man dressed in a high-end, nouveau riche suit to the floor and pressed a handgun to his temple.
I'm asking you where Guest is.
The man exhaled fearfully, spitting out blood, and pointed in a certain direction. The moment he did, Midler shot him dead.
