Haruaki Abe. Homeroom teacher for Class 2-3 and a Japanese language teacher. A newly appointed teacher and the only human in the school. His family runs a shrine, giving him exorcism powers. He is an extreme uniform fetishist and a total wimp. Kind and devoted to his students. He has a very prominent cowlick. He has a twin brother (whom he is obsessed with). Students call him Seimei-kun, Seimei, or Mr. Seimei. He is practically a walking gag character and occasionally seems to transcend humanity—like rotating his neck 720 degrees or running while doing a bridge.

Rintaro Miki. Student discipline officer and Yokai Studies teacher. A Shuten-doji who grows stronger by drinking alcohol, yet he has a low tolerance; when drunk, he becomes a violent drunkard and goes on a rampage. He is skilled at sucking up to those in power. A handsome man with a soft Kyoto accent. He has five older sisters. His family home is in a Kyoto entertainment district, and whenever he visits, they force him to cross-dress and help out.

Izuna Hatanaka. Student discipline officer and Science teacher. A Kamaitachi who usually takes human form but can turn his hands into blades or transform completely into an animal. A strict, serious teacher who is actually a former delinquent. He treasures a scarf knitted by his wife. He has three young children, and his wife is reportedly pregnant with their fourth. He has been friends with Miki since high school, and they were known as a legendary delinquent duo. He is married to one of Miki's sisters.

Akira Takahashi. School nurse (doctor). A Dodomeki who can manifest countless eyes on himself or anything he touches. Always smiling and approachable, but he is a perverted, psychopathic mad scientist. A handsome man. He has a younger brother who looks exactly like him.

Mikoto Sano. A God of Misfortune (Yakubyogami). A taciturn, cool, and sadistic handsome guy. He is strangely proficient at professional wrestling moves. He is best friends with Mamekichi Maizuka, whom he calls 'Mame.' He is surprisingly kind and overprotective toward Mamekichi. He serves as the rare voice of reason (often physical) in the class. Possesses great strength.

Mamekichi Maizuka. A Mame-tanuki. He can transform into anything he likes by putting a plastic bag over his head. An innocent mascot-like figure with excellent communication skills. He can be sharp-tongued at times. He loves Sano-kun. His family is in the yakuza. He has many younger siblings.

Toya Fuji. A Yuki-onna (male). A foul-mouthed sadist. He always cross-dresses and wears a sailor uniform at school. He uses hair extensions. A beauty. He has a cross-dressing hobby but is not effeminate. When going to the beach, he wore normal men's swimwear and no extensions. He enjoys poking at people's insecurities. First person: I (rough).

Beniko Yashiki. A Zashiki-warashi. A hardcore gaming otaku. Lazy and does things at her own pace. She always wears a red jersey over her sailor uniform and pants under her skirt (partly to annoy Seimei). Her family runs an inn, and she has three fathers. Zashiki-warashi are yokai born from houses. She is childhood friends with Hijita, who recommended gaming to her last year, leading to her obsession.

Kotaro Hijita. A Dorotabo who can manifest mud within his field of vision when he removes his gloves. When he loses his temper, he throws mud at people. He can also dive into the mud. For some reason, he never gets dirty himself. A straightforward and honest personality. He sometimes brings game consoles to school with Yashiki, only for them to be confiscated by Mr. Hatanaka. He wears gloves and an eyepatch over his left eye. He is unpopular with girls... He occasionally reads shojo manga and sobs. Mamekichi calls him 'Hijitan.'
