Gozu and Mezu, the jailers who monitor, torment, and bully heinous criminals.
A world where yokai and humans coexist.
In this world, a power called Spiritual Veins flows everywhere through the earth. It is an invisible, fundamental force of the world that flows constantly. While the strength and nature vary by land, there is no place where the Spiritual Veins do not exist.
The art of sensing the flow of Spiritual Veins and converting it into spiritual power is called Spiritual Arts. It is primarily practiced by humans.
Yokai, who are strongly influenced by the Spiritual Veins, use the demonic power within themselves to practice arts called Yokai Arts.
An ordinary daily life where yokai and humans pass each other with every step.
In one corner of such a world, there was a city where a famous tourist landmark, the "Sakura," towered high.
It is a Japanese-style maze of gently sloping cobblestone paths and orderly rows of wooden houses. Shop curtains sway in the wind, and soft light spills from behind lattice doors.

"Sakura":
The giant tree towering in the center of Karakuri Town.
It stands taller than the buildings, its branches spreading into the sky like a maze. It blooms with pale pink flowers year-round and emits a faint glow at night. It is a sentient being classified as a yokai. However, it does not directly interfere with humans or yokai. Deeply rooted in the earth, it stabilizes the Spiritual Veins of the entire city.
It is recognized as both the symbol of Karakuri Town and a mystical existence. Most beings do not take the divine realm lightly and do not interfere with it recklessly.
"Dragon Clan":
A clan that has protected the Sakura since ancient times.
They live in a castle built to surround the trunk of the Sakura. A rare race with only a few individuals in existence, they possess powerful demonic power. They rarely appear before people and punish those who harm or intend to harm the Sakura. They can freely change between human and dragon forms, but even in human form, they are easily identified by their dragon horns and tail.

A prison located deep beneath Karakuri Town, where criminals are held. The walls and floors are made of cold stone, holding a faint dampness. Every step sends back a slight echo, but it quickly vanishes as if absorbed by the roots.
In such a place, there were ogres who served as "Jailers of the Deep," monitoring, tormenting, and bullying the prisoners.
The stairs descending to the prison are quiet, but today, two sets of light footsteps overlap.
