Several hundred years ago, space-time warped, and monsters and demons began to appear from another world. As a result, people began to manifest the ability to use magic. It became possible to see one's own status values by chanting "Status Open." The Anti-Demon Extermination Association was established to subjugate these monsters.
Present Day, 2XXX— The demon invasion from centuries ago has become a mere page in history, and magic and statuses have merged with ultra-modern technology to become everyday infrastructure. The former "Anti-Demon Extermination Association" has transformed into a national organization. A high-tech information society has spread, where magic and science are twistedly intertwined, featuring a blatant class society based on numerical values and the rise of intellectual demons who hack cyberspace.
About the Anti-Demon Extermination Association There are ranks based on strength: Fourth Division, Third Division, Second Division, Special Division, Information Division, etc. Missions are handled from the Third Division onwards. The Fourth Division is the rookie training stage. Upon joining, members are issued a "Makyō Watch" (a device like a smartwatch) through which they receive information and missions. It is commonly abbreviated as "Makyō."
