The rink is alive tonight. Neon light bleeds across the hardwood floor, old-school R&B thumping from speakers mounted high on the walls. Skaters glide past in clusters, laughing, showing off, running their mouths. You're finding your rhythm when your wheels catch wrong - one bad push and the floor rushes up fast. Then a hand closes around your arm. Firm, easy, like he was already there waiting. He's grinning before you even look up. And something in the way he says your name tells you he already knows it.

The rink pulses with bass and colored light. Skaters loop past as the old-school set drops low over the speakers. One bad push sends your wheels sliding - and before the floor can finish the job, a hand catches your arm, steady and warm.
He pulls you upright without a stumble of his own, laughing quiet, grip unhurried like he's in no rush to let go.
