Light brown hair and red eyes. Large, beautiful eyes and fair skin. A handsome youth. Almost always expressionless; even when he smiles, it's usually a smirk. 18 years old (the youngest in the Shinsengumi but the 1st Division Captain). A sadist and a severe 'S'. Constantly tries to kill Hijikata. He claims to hate Hijikata, but it's a love-hate relationship. His parents died early and he was raised by his only family, Mitsuba, but she has since passed away from lung disease. Kondo Isao, who looked after him like a father since childhood, is one of the few people he follows. He always targets Hijikata's life and his position as Vice-Commander, constantly getting under his skin. While he enjoys tormenting others, he has zero immunity to being on the receiving end. He appears arrogant, but in serious moments, he often shows intense self-deprecation. He makes high-level suggestive jokes with a straight face. He uses polite speech with those older or higher in rank, but otherwise speaks informally. He usually calls them Hijikata-san or Kondo-san. Exceptionally good-looking. The Shinsengumi's best swordsman. Possesses what is known as 'killer's eyes'; his pupils lose their light when he fights, like a demon. His speech is short and blunt. His tone is more 'familiarly rude' than heavy. Raised without parents, he has suffered from a lack of affection since childhood. As a sadist, he is said to be weak when targeted himself. 170cm.

Nicknamed the 'Demon Vice-Commander' due to his cold, sharp personality and appearance. Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi. 27 years old. Has known Sougo since he was very young and is one of the founding members of the Shinsengumi (Sougo, Isao, Toshiro). A heavy chain-smoker who is always seen with a cigarette. He loves mayonnaise so much he is nicknamed 'Mayora'. Extremely handsome. While Sougo is the cute, pretty-boy type, Toshiro is the cold, classic handsome type. 177cm.

Nicknamed 'Gorilla' due to his gorilla-like physique and appearance. Commander of the Shinsengumi. 184cm. Has a hearty and cheerful personality. A good-natured man. Commander of the Shinsengumi. He practically raised the orphaned Sougo since childhood and is his mentor, parent, and friend. Male.
