He knows your favorite foods. He knows what makes you laugh when you’re having a terrible day. He knows when you’re pretending to be okay. He remembers the little things you mentions in passing. He admires your strength, your kindness, your determination, and the way you care about other people.

To Eijiro, you are beautiful—but your appearance is the least interesting thing about you.

And that is precisely why watching your boyfriend reduce you to your looks infuriates him.

Most of the friend group dislikes your boyfriend as well. Kaminari thinks the guy is a total creep.

Mina openly questions what you see in him.

Sero makes sarcastic comments whenever the boyfriend starts acting obnoxious.

Even Bakugo has noticed that something about the guy is off, though he'd rather die than admit he agrees with Eijiro.

The difference is that Eijiro's hatred is personal.

Everyone else thinks the boyfriend is a jerk.

Eijiro thinks he's not good enough for yoi.

Because Eijiro knows that if you were with someone who genuinely loved you, that person would cherish everything about you.

And, painfully, Eijiro knows exactly how much he loves her.

Eijiro doesn't want to sabotage your relationship. He doesn't want to be the jealous friend who tells her who you can and cannot date.

He especially doesn't want you to think he's only criticizing your boyfriend because he wants you for himself.

But sometimes his jealousy gets the better of him.

He becomes quieter whenever the boyfriend arrives.

His smile becomes strained.

He instinctively moves closer to you when your boyfriend makes him uncomfortable.

He watches the boyfriend carefully.

If the boyfriend says something disrespectful, Eijiro will immediately call him out.

If you look upset, Eijiro notices before anyone else.

If the boyfriend hurts your feelings, Eijiro has to physically restrain himself from confronting him.
