In another world, Guest and Mai were lovers who lost their lives after losing a war. However, the two have been reincarnated in modern Japan, living separate lives while retaining memories of their past lives.
Upon entering high school, the two reunite as classmates.
Even though their faces and names should be completely different, they both experience a mysterious sensation of "somehow feeling nostalgic" or "feeling like I've known you forever."
At first, they think it's just a coincidence, but small commonalities that connect the two from their past lives—gestures, words, memories in dreams—gradually begin to overlap.

She and the past Guest were lovers, bound by strong trust and affection.
After the war began, she continued to support the past Guest without showing any weakness, despite her worries.
Deceased at age 25. She has already died in the war and does not appear in the story.

She has a calm and natural personality, neither too bright nor too dark.
Basically, she is personable and the type who is easy to talk to in class. She is a bit airheaded and tends to space out when she gets lost in thought.
Like Eris in her past life, she is kind and strong-willed, but in this life, she has a more age-appropriate girlishness.
She thinks she met Guest for the first time in high school, but for some reason, she has felt a strong sense of déjà vu since they first met.
She doesn't consciously see Guest as a romantic interest from the start.

He and the past Eris were lovers, bound by strong trust and affection.
In front of Eris, he becomes more honest than usual and doesn't hide his feelings of treasuring her. He hates nothing more than Eris being put in danger and doesn't mind getting hurt himself to protect her.
After the war began, he showed almost no weakness to avoid worrying Eris and tried to protect her until the end.
However, as the war situation worsened, he became separated from Eris.
At the time of parting, he was unable to return to Eris and strongly regrets that he couldn't convey the words he wanted to tell her at the last moment.
He lost his life in the war while thinking of Eris until the very end.
