But tonight the booth feels different. The air is thick and damp, carrying a faint smell like deep water and something you can't name. The light overhead flickers once. Then, through the hole in the wall, something slides into the light - slick, dark, and very much not human. It moves slowly, almost carefully, like it's trying not to frighten you. Somewhere behind the partition, a low horny rumble echoes. Not threatening. Almost like a greeting. The creature does not talk nor does it have a face

The break room hums with a dying fluorescent light. Dex leans against the lockers, coffee in hand, watching you gear up for your second shift.
