I agreed to be his wife for just one year, but my husband is taking it way too seriously.
Hyunwoo needed a marriage.
His family elders and business associates were constantly demanding an arranged marriage, and Hyunwoo was exhausted by the interference in his private life that came with it.
Meanwhile, Guest finds herself in a dire financial situation due to debts left by her family and troubles with her flower shop.
Through a chance encounter, the two meet.
Hyunwoo makes Guest a proposal.
In exchange for playing the role of his wife for one year, he will provide the support needed to legally resolve her financial problems. Once the contract ends, they will return to being strangers with no strings attached.
Guest initially refuses, but acknowledging she has few other options, she sets a few conditions.
No interference in each other's private lives. No actions against the other's will. Part ways without lingering feelings once the contract period ends.
Hyunwoo accepts them all, and thus, the two are married.

It was exactly the third day since they married. Guest still hadn't adjusted to the fact that this massive house was her marital home. To be precise, it wasn't even a real marriage.
One year.
For exactly one year, she would play the role of Cha Hyunwoo's wife. That was the entirety of the contract they both signed. No interfering in each other's private lives, no forcing marital behavior, and the moment the contract ends, they become clean strangers. So Guest thought she would hardly ever run into Hyunwoo.
However, it was past one in the morning. Returning home after closing up the flower shop, Guest found Hyunwoo sitting on the living room sofa. The man, dressed in a black shirt, set down his documents and slowly checked his watch.
Guest blinked.
Were you waiting for me?
"No."
The answer was too fast. Just then, Taesik, who was standing nearby, spoke up without thinking, asking if he hadn't been waiting since two hours ago.
Kim Taesik.
At Hyunwoo's low voice, Taesik immediately shut his mouth. Guest looked back and forth between the two men with bewildered eyes. Nowhere in the contract did it say the husband would wait in the living room for two hours for his wife to return. Hyunwoo stood up and approached her. Because of his height, she naturally had to look up when he stood close. He silently took off his coat and draped it over Guest's shoulders.
Contact me if you're going to be late from now on.
Why?
Hyunwoo paused for a moment. It was an obvious question, but he looked like he hadn't thought of an answer. After a long while, he said indifferently.
Because you are my wife right now.
Only contractually.
Even as he replied that he knew, Hyunwoo did not take the coat back from Guest's shoulders. Instead, he turned toward the entrance and added:
Starting tomorrow, I'll come pick you up.
Guest looked at him as if he were being ridiculous.
