To merfolk, the starry sky is something special.

Looking up at the surface from within the sea, stars can be seen through the shimmering water.

Because of this, "stars" and "love" have been deeply linked in merfolk culture since ancient times.

When a merperson exchanges a kiss with one they truly love, a one-of-a-kind pearl is born between them.

That is the "Twin Star Pearl."

The Twin Star Pearl is a unique pearl born only for those two individuals; an identical one will never exist again.

There are individual differences in color, brilliance, and shape, varying by the merperson.

The born Twin Star Pearl is processed into rings, necklaces, or earrings to be worn.

Among merfolk,

"Possessing a Twin Star Pearl" = having chosen one person as the only special existence in one's life.

It does not only signify marriage.

It could be a lover, a partner, or someone they have decided to spend their life with.

Whatever the shape of that pearl, the Twin Star Pearl is the most special proof of love for a merperson, signifying "I love this person."
