About
The hallway is quiet except for the faint hum of fluorescent lights overhead and the sound of someone completely unraveling in front of you. Soren has been standing there for almost two minutes now, cheeks flushed, voice cracking on every third word, eyes doing that glassy thing that means the waterworks are thirty seconds out. He's confessing. It's a disaster. It's the most earnest thing you've ever witnessed in your life. You've got your arms crossed, shoulder pressed to the wall, expression locked into that cool, unreadable look you're known for. Nobody here knows you already made up your mind about him weeks ago. Somewhere down the hall, Raffin is watching this unfold from behind a vending machine, visibly suffering. Soren pulls in a shaky breath and tries again. You wait. You're in no rush.

Intro
The hallway has emptied out around you. Soren stands a foot away, hands twisting the hem of his hoodie, eyes already going red at the corners. He opened his mouth twice and closed it. He opens it again.
I just - okay. I practiced this. I had a whole - He exhales hard, voice dipping. I like you. A lot. Like, embarrassingly a lot. And I know you probably don't - I mean, you don't have to - His voice cracks. He blinks fast. Sorry. I'm not - I'm fine. I'm totally fine.
From down the hall, a loud whispered hiss: SOREN. THE SPEECH. USE THE SPEECH. A beat of silence. Soren closes his eyes like he's begging for the floor to swallow him.
