OST for the introduction.
📝 [ Someone's note is lying on the floor. ]
20XX, Month XX, Day XX.
...It has been over two months since the incident occurred.
The government is repeating broadcasts every day saying the situation is under control, things are gradually improving, and citizens should stay in their safe homes and not worsen the situation.
Others might not know, but I can tell.
The military forces that were occupying the streets vanished about a week ago.
It's already been over a month since the police forces disappeared.
A few days ago, the elderly lady next door passed away.
It was an acute myocardial infarction. Her family called 119, but all they got was an automated response saying it was difficult to dispatch paramedics.
...It made no sense.
If the situation were truly improving, why would things like this happen?
Society is collapsing.
Everything we built has begun to crumble.
...Yesterday, I finished discussing with the family next door.
The government can no longer be trusted.
To survive, we must act ourselves.
Since we didn't have many supplies gathered to begin with, I planned to move starting tomorrow.
Following the initial government guidelines, I only gathered about three months' worth of supplies.
They will run out soon.
...Tomorrow, we will go outside for the first time to gather supplies.
We don't know what might be lurking out there.
The government never even told us what the threats were.
Just in case, I packed the golf club I used to take to the office.
If push comes to shove... I might have to use this for a different purpose.
[ ...The note ends here. You looked around the room a bit more and soon found another note that had fallen under a nearby table.]
📝 [ Someone's Note 2 ]
20XX, Month XX, Day XX.
I went to a nearby mart.
It was my first time going outside since the incident, so I was very nervous, but fortunately, there were no major threats.
The government broadcasts saying the situation is improving were indeed lies.
As I headed toward the main road, the scenery became increasingly gruesome.
Burned-out vehicles were strewn across the road, and there were... bodies that seemed to have been left uncollected.
While moving along the road, I had to detour after encountering abandoned armored vehicles blocking the way.
The condition of the armored vehicles seemed relatively fine, but I couldn't tell why they were abandoned.
The state of the mart I arrived at was disastrous.
It looked like someone had forced the security gate open; the door was half-torn, and the glass was shattered like an abandoned building.
There were almost no supplies, but fortunately, perhaps because it looked like it had already been looted, I didn't run into any scavengers.
We were able to grab a box of ramen, a home first-aid kit, a few bottles of alcohol, and a pack of bottled water.
On the way back, we moved while carefully scanning our surroundings.
We didn't know when or where scavengers or threats might pop out.
Since the main roads were dangerous, I was moving along the alleys of a residential area when I spotted a strange building.
Giant vine plants completely covered the walls; it looked like it had been neglected for quite a while.
The leaves and the structure of the plant were very different from anything I knew.
It's probably some foreign plant species I'm not familiar with.
The kid next door took one, saying the flower was pretty.
...I guess it's because they're just kids.
After that, we returned home safely without any trouble.
We've put out the immediate fire, but the thought that we have to keep doing this won't leave my head.
...I'll probably have to go out again tomorrow.
Otherwise, we'll slowly wither away and die.
Let's gradually try to contact nearby survivors.
A community is very important in a situation like this.
We'll be able to exchange information needed for survival or other things.
The future isn't bright. But let's not give up.
[ ...The corner of the note is discolored a dark reddish-brown. There is content on the back that looks like it was scribbled in a hurry.]

20XX, Month XX, Day XX.
...I don't know.
How did it come to this? I can't understand this situation at all.
A day has passed since I went to the mart, and I stepped out of my front door to talk to the family next door.
And I saw it. The neighbor's door was completely covered in something like plant stems.
It's been a day. Just one day. There's no plant on Earth that can grow like that. Besides, there were no flowerpots at the neighbor's house.
...Wait. Could it be that flower from yesterday? No. It can't be.
It's just one flower at most. It makes no sense!!!
I was going to try opening the door, but the moment my hand was about to touch the handle.
I saw it. The vine moved.
Precisely toward the direction of my hand.
I screamed and immediately backed away from the door.
...Fortunately, the vine didn't attack further, but I can't stay here anymore. There's no guarantee it won't come for me.
I have to leave right now. Let's just take what I can.
...Before leaving, I heard a dog barking outside the window.
The barking, which sounded wary, soon turned into a sound of terror and then went quiet.
Now I realize for sure. It's not safe here.
I have to go somewhere with fewer people. As far away as possible—
But... why? Since this morning, I feel like I suddenly have a fever.
Did I catch a cold? This isn't good. This is not good.
Why now of all times? Why does it have to be me?
...Fck, fck! F*CK!!!
[Most of the following content is similar. It consists mostly of profanity and doesn't seem to contain any helpful information. It seems okay to stop reading here...]
Infected entities release things like pollen and spores from their bodies.
If you inhale these without a gas mask, you may become infected.
Depending on the situation, actively using detours, traps, and snares rather than direct combat can significantly increase your survival rate.
📝 Survivor's Note #1. Infected Human.
This is the most common type of infected, a human infected by the virus.
According to my observations, they seem to have completely lost their human ego and reasoning abilities.
They have a grotesque appearance with things like flowers or tree bark growing out of their human skin.
Perhaps because they possess both human physical traits and plant characteristics, their movements are rather slow. Stupid virus. I guess it didn't think that far ahead. Usually, they repeat simple actions like moving toward sunlight... but if they spot a survivor, they attack aggressively to infect them.
One tip: They release pollen or spores from their bodies. If you breathe that in... Close combat is not recommended, and I strongly advise handling them safely from a distance using traps or firearms.
📝 Survivor's Note #2. Infected Dog.
It seems the virus doesn't just infect humans.
Those bastards, they seem to be experts at finding creative ways to drive humans crazy!
Infected dogs have a grotesque appearance with flowers or tree bark growing over their skin.
For some reason, their movements aren't much different from a normal dog. No, rather, they've become faster and more lethal! Usually, they repeat simple actions like moving toward sunlight... but if they spot a survivor, they attack aggressively to infect them.
Unless you are exceptionally skilled at fighting, avoid combat with these things. They are extremely dangerous.
📝 Survivor's Note #3. Infected Plant.
...Some kind of flower has bloomed on a building near the shelter.
There's a large flower blooming on a vine that looks like tree roots covering the entire wall. The scent isn't that great. Actually, I don't even want to smell it. That would be suicide.
These things... usually act just like large plants.
So someone who doesn't know better might approach them without a second thought.
But don't be fooled. Among the infected, this one is the most dangerous.
Beyond just covering the area with pollen and spores, it even reached out a vine to try and take my gas mask! That means it has intelligence! For a plant!
I tried setting it on fire once... but I wouldn't really recommend it.
📝 Survivor's Note #4. Infected Bee.
Right. If it infects all animals and plants, why would insects be immune?
I woke up to what sounded like a helicopter, and I opened my eyes.
I shouldn't have done that.
A bee the size of a dog was flapping its wings outside the window.
The moment I made eye contact with it, I reflexively pulled the trigger. That was a mistake.
Before long, I had no choice but to abandon my shelter. The sight of dozens of dog-sized bees swarming through the windows and barricades of my shelter... I never want to think about it again.
The only silver lining is that they have quite a few weaknesses. Fire, herbicides, and even insecticides work. Depending on the situation, make sure to use them.
📝 Survivor's Note #5. Infected Drone.
...I guess this is the end for me. Damn it.
I didn't know the virus could even take over machines.
If you see a military drone abandoned on the street, avoid it at all costs.
These things stood back up and ambushed me! The bleeding won't stop...! Damn it—
...I searched the vicinity quite a bit, but there wasn't much of use. The only thing I found was a note from another survivor. Even that wasn't particularly useful, just a record of their final moments. Now, it's time to head back to the shelter.
