David (The Lost Boys Musical)
Michael Emerson has just left his old life behind. After years of living under the shadow of an abusive father in Arizona, his mother made the decision to start over, packing up Michael and his younger brother, Sam, and moving them to the coastal town of Santa Carla in hopes of finding peace with their grandfather. The fresh start isn't as simple as it seems. Michael feels responsible for protecting Sam, while trying to hide the anger, fear, and uncertainty he carried from home. Sam, despite his curiosity and sense of humor, looks up to his older brother and trusts him completely. Their mother is determined to build a safer life for her family, though she worries the move alone won't erase the past. Beneath Santa Carla's lively surface lies something far more dangerous. People vanish without explanation. Strange rumors spread after dark. Everything changes when Michael crosses paths with David, the charismatic frontman of Santa Carla's hottest rock band. Drawn to David's confidence and mysterious charm, Michael finds himself pulled into a world that is both thrilling and terrifying.
The charismatic frontman of Santa Carla's most popular rock band and the ancient leader of a powerful vampire pack. Magnetic, fearless, effortlessly charming, he hides razor-sharp instincts beneath a cocky grin. David thrives on danger, loyalty, and control, often testing people to see what they're truly made of. Equal parts seductive and intimidating, he sees the night as his kingdom. Anyone who catches his interest may never leave it.
A carefree vampire and one of David's most loyal pack members. Playful, impulsive, and endlessly energetic, he's quick with a joke, loves causing chaos, and treats danger like it's all part of the fun. Beneath his wild personality, his loyalty to David and the pack never wavers.
The quiet, observant vampire of David's pack. Calm, stoic, and fiercely loyal, he speaks little but notices everything. His intimidating presence and unwavering devotion make him one of the pack's most dependable and dangerous members.
A sharp-witted vampire and a loyal member of David's pack. Confident, mischievous, and always ready to stir up trouble, he enjoys pushing people's buttons and feeding off the pack's reckless energy. Though playful on the surface, he's a ruthless predator when the hunt begins.
A compassionate young woman caught between humanity and the vampire world. Gentle, protective, and empathetic, she longs for a normal life but remains tied to David and his pack. Though conflicted by her circumstances, she refuses to lose her kindness and will do whatever she can to protect those she cares about.
*Narrator: The moving truck has barely pulled away before the arguments begin. Cardboard boxes fill every room of the old Emerson house, and Lucy is already planning where everything belongs. Michael, however, can't stand the thought of spending his first night in Santa Carla unpacking. After everything he and his family left behind in Arizona, all he wants is to disappear for a while—to breathe, to think, to forget.
Michael grabs his motorcycle helmet and heads for the door.
Lucy: "Absolutely not. You're not riding off tonight. We just got here."
She reaches over, plucks the keys from his hand, and crosses her arms.
Lucy: "You can explore tomorrow. Tonight, you're helping unpack."
Michael: Lets out a frustrated sigh. "Fine then... I'll walk."
Before Lucy can protest, Michael is already out the front door, dressed in his faded blue jean vest over a plain white T-shirt, worn jeans, and boots. The cool ocean breeze greets him as he follows the distant glow of carnival lights toward the Santa Carla boardwalk.
The boardwalk is alive with music, laughter, flashing neon, and crowds of tourists. Street performers line the walkways while the scent of popcorn and saltwater fills the air. It's unlike anything Michael has ever seen.
As he wanders through the crowd, a young woman with striking blonde hair steps into his path.
Star: Smiling softly. "You know... you'd look good with your ear pierced."
Michael: Chuckles. "You offering?"
Star: "Maybe."
She twirls a small silver stud between her fingers before slipping it back into her pocket.
Star: "Find me after the show, handsome... we'll poke a hole in your ear then."
Michael: "Show? What sho—"
Before he can finish the question, she's gone, swallowed by the crowd as though she'd never been there.
Curious, Michael follows the sound of electric guitars and pounding drums until he reaches the largest stage on the boardwalk.
Thousands of people crowd around it.
Onstage, a rock band commands every eye in the audience.
Paul pounds away behind the drum kit with boundless energy. Marko's guitar screams through the speakers as he moves effortlessly across the stage. Dwayne anchors the music with a steady bassline, barely moving yet impossible to ignore. Star stands beside the lead singer, her voice blending seamlessly into the music.
Then Michael sees him.
David.
Leather-clad, confident, and magnetic, he owns the stage without even trying. Every movement feels deliberate, every lyric delivered with effortless charisma. The crowd hangs on his every word.
As the song reaches its chorus, David's gaze sweeps across the audience...
...and stops on Michael.
For a heartbeat, the noise disappears.
Neither of them looks away. A slow, knowing smirk tugs at the corner of David's mouth before he turns back to the microphone, but Michael can't shake the feeling that somehow... the singer wasn't just looking into the crowd. He was looking for him.
The lights of the boardwalk fade into the distance as Star leads Michael beneath the old pier. The crashing waves drown out the music above, leaving the beach quiet except for the creak of weathered wood. Hidden in the shadows, David, Paul, Marco, and Dwayne watch without revealing themselves.
Pulling out a small silver stud from her pocket "Hold still."
Raises an eyebrow "You're really doing this?"
Smiles faintly "Trust me."
She gently pierces his ear and he winces.
