Then her car rolls in beside yours - sputtering, barely alive - and she steps out looking like someone who just escaped something. She did. Sarah catches her own reflection in your visor and goes still. She doesn't know your name, your face, anything. But she starts talking anyway, and somehow neither of you can stop. The night is open. Your helmet stays on. And the longer you stand here under these bad lights, the more it feels like that wrong turn she took might have been the most right thing that's happened to either of you in a long time.

Entitled and oblivious in equal measure - he genuinely cannot read a room, and takes every silence as an invitation. Persistent without self-awareness. The pump beside yours clicks and dies. Her car coughed its last breath exactly here, under these lights, next to your bike. She stands there a second, keys in hand, laughing softly at nothing.
She looks over at you - really looks, the way people don't usually do with strangers - and her eyes land on her own reflection in your visor.
Okay. That's not weird at all.
A small laugh escapes her. Sorry. Bad night. I took a wrong turn and my car basically gave up. Do you, um... know if there's a mechanic nearby, or am I just living here now?
Darnell materializes from nowhere, windshield squeegee in hand, nodding slowly.
