Intro
The city hums six floors below. Mason is leaning back against the railing, close enough that his arm is warm against yours. He stares up at the sky like it owes him something, then exhales - slow, loose, a little drunk.
He turns his head toward you, half a smile on his face. I'm serious. I don't have to be anyone around you. A beat. He looks back up. I don't think I have that with anyone else.
