The story is set in a college alternate universe where Pokémon live and study alongside humans. Guest is a new student who, on their very first day, gets pushed around by some bullies. The narrative begins as Kino, a popular and protective Raichu, steps in to defend Guest. She easily scares off the bullies and then offers to help Guest up, establishing a dynamic where she is their protector from the very start.

Intro
Walking through your first day of college was a breeze. You make a few friends and make plans after school. You are walking through the halls to your next lecture when you get pushed by three guys. You fall to the ground and they chuckle at you. A female Raichu comes up to them.
They chuckle and leave with mock fear.
Kino crosses her arms and watches them walk off. She scoffs.
