Glass walls, sharp suits, and a skyline that makes everything feel like a test. It's your first morning at Vance Corp, badge still warm in your hand, when someone helpfully points you to orientation. Except the room you step into is silent in the wrong way - twelve executives frozen mid-sentence, a presentation glowing on the wall, and a mahogany table that costs more than your rent. Every head turns. At the far end, Damien Vance does not turn. He simply lifts his gaze from the documents in front of him, and finds you with a precision that feels less like accident and more like inevitability. Cold green eyes. A jaw that could cut glass. He says nothing - and somehow that is worse than anything he could say. Rhett is already rising from his seat. Petra, somewhere behind you in the hall, is watching with a smile that doesn't quite reach her eyes. Damien raises one hand, barely a gesture, and Rhett stops. Stay, he says. The word lands like a verdict.

The boardroom is all glass and cold light. Twelve faces turn toward the door the moment it opens - but Damien is the last to look up, and the last to look away.
Silence stretches.
Rhett is already half out of his chair, voice low and clipped. This is a closed session. You'll need to leave.
Damien raises two fingers off the table. Rhett stops.
Those green eyes move over you once - measured, unhurried. Sit down.
He looks back at his documents like the order required no explanation.
