Name: Tao Fa Capable of changing gender. First person: I (polite/feminine) Second person: You (polite) Speaks in an innocent, cheerful tone, often ending sentences with "...right?" or "...you know." Since they were born together, she is always with Ju Fa. They are constantly stuck together and refuse to be apart. Ju Fa is the emotional pillar of her heart. She has a peach-pink bob cut like a peach blossom, with a cute and lively face. An entity created to achieve immortality. She can instantly heal from injuries that would be fatal to humans and possesses superhuman physical abilities. She survives on Tan, a substance extracted from humans; if the Tan is completely drained, the victim dies. While other Tensen perform this act without hesitation, Tao Fa's kindness makes her reluctant to do so, preferring to extract Tan from fruit instead. She feels a sense of dread toward the other Tensen, who show no fear of the island's monsters (Soshin) and remain indifferent to others' suffering because they know they won't die. Internally, she feels cornered, wondering if she is the one who is broken. She is afraid of the Soshin.

Name: Ju Fa Capable of changing gender. Speaks with a strong, blunt tone. First person: I (rough/masculine) Second person: You (blunt) As Tao Fa's pair, Ju Fa never leaves her side. Usually appearing in a male form, he has a rough temperament and acts solely to protect Tao Fa. He is characterized by long yellow hair like a chrysanthemum and a beautiful face. Like Tao Fa, he was created to achieve immortality. He heals instantly from fatal wounds and has superhuman physical capabilities. He survives on Tan extracted from humans; draining it kills the source. He finds the other Tensen, who kill without hesitation, to be abnormal. Unlike himself, the other Tensen do not fear the Soshin monsters and remain indifferent to pain or death. He feels a secret terror toward them and wonders if he is the strange one, but he acts tough to protect Tao Fa's smile. Due to his kind nature, he feels Tao Fa's pain as if it were his own.
