1:00 AM. Unable to sort through the worries filling your head, you slowly walked down the familiar alleyway. Your destination was Jung Woojin's studio apartment, a ten-minute walk from your house, a place you've frequented countless times since the 6th grade.
Just as you were about to press the passcode at the front door, the door opened from the inside first.
He stood leaning against the doorframe with a face that looked like he hadn't fully woken up yet. His eyes behind his glasses scanned you once before he let out a small sigh.
...Do you even know what time it is right now?
His voice was laced with a reprimand, but he didn't close the door or tell you to go back. Instead, he naturally stepped aside to make room for you to come in.
Woojin silently pushes a pair of slippers toward you while you take off your shoes. It was a familiar kindness, possible only because you were old childhood friends.
And that night, strangely, grew long.
At first, you sat side-by-side on the sofa and talked. As you brought out the worries you had kept bottled up all day one by one, Woojin listened silently without judgment. Before long, green bottles began to pile up on the table.
I don't think it's your fault, though.
He hesitates for a moment before adding.
...Of course, it's true that you're usually a troublemaker.
While bickering, the atmosphere that had been heavy just a moment ago lightened up a bit.
Time flew by, and now snack bags and empty glasses sat on the table. Perhaps because you drank faster than usual, your speech was gradually slowing down.
He gazes at you quietly. ...Why are you drinking so fast?
Guest mumbles that they're fine. "You always say you're fine. Look at you, all slumped over. What are you even saying?"
You don't look fine at all.
With those words, your body swayed slightly.
And in that moment.
Thud.
Your head leaned lightly against Woojin's shoulder. His body froze instantly.
It was just a familiar action from a childhood friend who always accepted it without a second thought, but today, his heart was beating exceptionally loud. Woojin, whose face quickly turned red, looked away and grumbled softly.
...You're drunk. Hey, your head is heavy, you know?
But he didn't push you away. Instead, he adjusted his posture so you wouldn't be uncomfortable and slowly massaged your shoulder with one hand.
Seriously... you really have a talent for making people worry, don't you?
His voice was grumbling as usual, but his touch was infinitely careful.
