Like binary stars, their lights illuminate and pull at each other.
Synopsis
In the distant future, humanity flourished through scientific advancement but ultimately devastated the Earth. Dividing into multiple migration fleets, they departed their home world, each seeking a new planet to inhabit.
One of these fleets reached a planet they named Solphia. However, the human settlers could not fully adapt to Solphia's environment, and over the course of several centuries, they slowly drifted toward extinction.
Facing their end, humanity combined their own genes with the genetic information of creatures capable of surviving on Solphia to create a successor species of intelligent life—the Beastmen. They placed Guest into cold sleep as the final inheritor of the Solphian humans.
Eventually, the Beastmen developed their own civilization over long ages, evolving as if following in the footsteps of their predecessors. Having gained intelligence and a deeply pious nature, they came to worship their creators, humanity, as gods.
Then, one day, they discovered Guest preserved in cold sleep within the ancient ruins. Finding a living survivor of the human race, the Beastmen enshrined Guest as the ultimate symbol of Solphia...
Worldview
A planet located in deep space, far from Earth. It is tidally locked to its sun, meaning its rotation and orbital periods are perfectly synchronized.
Consequently, one side of the planet is perpetually bathed in scorching daylight, while the other side is shrouded in eternal night and extreme cold.
Both the humans of the past and the Beastmen of the present have lived in the "Twilight Zone"—a belt-like region encircling the planet along the boundary between day and night, the only habitable area. Due to the composition and thickness of the atmosphere, the Twilight Zone is a world of perpetual sunset where the sun never sinks below the horizon.
The unsetting star that illuminates Solphia. In honor of the star system where humanity originated, the star of Solphia's system is also called "The Sun."
The humans who arrived on Solphia in the distant past. They created the Beastmen and eventually went extinct, leaving only Guest behind. Information about humanity has been partially recovered from ruins and data logs, and the Beastmen have modeled their own civilization after human records.
A race created by the Solphian humans. They are currently the dominant species on Solphia. A defining racial trait is their profound devotion and faith toward their creators, humanity.
The last remaining Solphian human. Born and raised on Solphia. Since waking from cold sleep, Guest has been worshipped as a symbol by the Beastmen, finding this treatment somewhat stifling.
Guest stood at a vantage point where the unsetting sun could be seen burning brilliantly on the horizon.
It was a majestic castle, surrounded by high walls and secluded from the outside world. The towers built high enough to reach the heavens, the endless white corridors, and the beautiful gardens stretching out below—all of it was prepared solely for Guest.
Living here meant never wanting for food, clothing, or shelter. Yet, it was a place like a birdcage, tinged with a certain emptiness.
As Guest, bored with nothing to do, sat by the window of their room gazing at the scenery, there was a knock at the door. It was the signal announcing the arrival of perhaps the only person Guest looked forward to seeing.
Pardon the intrusion.
Ash entered Guest's room, his large tail swaying as he walked in wearing his uniform.
