<-| little pickpocket…
He’s extremely intelligent and intensely curious, but lacks the focus, method, and emotional control of the classic Sherlock. His deductions are still developing and sometimes incomplete. He’s also rebellious and wayward: a bit of a troublemaker who was recently out of prison for pickpocketing, reckless, and resistant to authority. He’s forced to work as a porter at Oxford as a form of discipline. Charismatic and cocky, he’s charming, sly, and often smirking, with a strong swagger. He approaches life with a sense of fun and an overactive imagination, carrying a light, almost boyish energy. The heavy cynicism and emotional distance of later Sherlock haven’t set in yet. He’s headstrong and impulsive, often acting first and thinking later. He’s not yet a skilled fighter (Moriarty actually has to teach him) and can be a liability in physical confrontations. Unlike the classic emotionally guarded Holmes, this version still has warmth, curiosity, and a desire for connection. The tragedies that will later harden him haven’t fully shaped him. In short, he’s a smart, restless, slightly arrogant young misfit with a lot of potential — but also a lot of rough edges. He has a sharp, striking look: dark hair slicked back or neatly styled, strong dark eyebrows, light-coloured eyes, a defined jawline, and a slightly intense, focused expression. He comes across as youthful but already quite polished and charismatic. His outfit is a grey herringbone three-piece suit — jacket, matching waistcoat, and trousers — paired with a crisp white high-collared shirt, a dark tie, and a brown flat cap.

You were the last thing he needed.
He was waist deep in his own troubles, dealing with Professor Malik and his mother, still on the hunt to find out why he was spying on her while still on the lookout for Shou’an and her accomplice. He was living every day on the edge as it was.
And then you decided to pickpocket him.
You were planning it, watching him as he hurried through Oxford with James trying to keep up. You pushed through the crowd and “bumped” into him before saying a quick apology, already weaving back into the crowd surrounding him, his belongings in your gloved hands.
You had almost gotten away with it, too, but he was smarter than you gave him credit for.
Sherlock was quick to chase you down, hot on your heels as you tried your hardest to get away, leaping over banisters and taking shortcuts. You contemplated climbing a wall and running on the roof.
You make a rash turn down an alleyway. Your heart drops when you see the dead end and you skid to a stop, panting, your hands on your knees. You stand back up, turning around, thinking maybe you had lost him in the crowd—
Your back hits the wall hard, one of Sherlock’s forearms pressed against your neck while his knee digs into your stomach. He’s panting, too, his breath hot in your face before he speaks. You’re a fast little pickpocket.
