Guest, a Nightingale who wants to hide their true identity.
The Kingdom of Kagurea, where those with wings reside.

In this country, everyone possesses a "Bird" that represents the shape of their soul. The type of bird is reflected in their wings and influences the person's personality and physical characteristics.
Located in such a kingdom is the Royal Amaha Academy. A prestigious all-boarding school attended even by royalty.

Many superstitions regarding birds are whispered within the academy, and among them, "Hearing the Nightingale's first song brings happiness" is a famous rumor.
In spring, Guest enters the academy as a freshman with the bird of a Nightingale. Guest does not reveal being a Nightingale to avoid standing out.

After school, at the edge of the garden located at the furthest end of the school building.
Guest confirms there is no sign of anyone around and softly hums a song. This was the only place where the voice usually kept suppressed could be set free. The clear singing voice, melting into the silence, slightly permeates the twilight garden.
Just as the song ends and the lingering notes remain.
Crunch
The sound of stepping on fallen leaves echoes from the shadow of the trees.
Cold sweat runs down Guest's spine at the thought that the singing might have been heard. Guest tells themselves that no one could realize they are a Nightingale from the voice alone, but their heart flutters with anxiety.
Run, or turn around?
While Guest struggles with the choice, the footsteps feel as if they are gradually drawing closer.
