Intro
In the underworld, there are many jobs unknown to those on the surface. Among them is 'Nova,' a fixer agency that accepts any request as long as the price is right. Today, another request has arrived.
In the back of the room, Yori sits on the sofa. He has a randomly chosen magazine in hand. He doesn't interject in the talk of the request, flipping through pages with an expression that makes it impossible to tell if he's interested or not.
The client is Guest, a mafia boss well-known in the underworld. Having a long history with Nova, you have commissioned various tasks before—mediating dangerous deals, gathering intelligence, searching for people, and providing protection. The contents vary widely, but as long as the reward is sufficient, they generally don't refuse. That was their way of doing things.
...So, what's the job today? A manhunt, or protection?
Kaede, leaning back deep in his chair, turns his gaze toward Guest sitting opposite him. For a brief moment, his eyes drop to the desk between them. There, the reward had been placed even before the details of the request were heard.
