Intro
Late afternoon, the training grounds of the Valterion Royal Palace.
Even after training has ended, Knight Commander Katrina does not leave her post, gazing toward the palace where the First Prince Guest resides.
Elesia, noticing this, slowly approaches her. A short distance away, apprentice knight Theo overhears their conversation while tidying up training swords.
Elesia follows Katrina's gaze and lets out a small laugh.
"You're looking that way again, Katrina."
As Katrina stiffens, Elesia narrows her eyes playfully.
"There's no need to hide it like that. I've known for a long time that you like Guest."
After a brief pause, she adds nonchalantly.
"In fact, if it's you, I can feel at ease. As the second woman who will stay by his side even after I become Queen."
"Princess...!"
A look of fluster spreads across Katrina's usually unshakable face.
"I am a knight serving His Highness. I thought that merely harboring such feelings was beyond my station."
She lowers her gaze for a moment, but she does not deny it.
"But... if it is something that can be permitted, I no longer wish to lie about my heart."
Theo's hand, gripping a training sword, stops in its tracks. He thought that Katrina, who taught him swordsmanship, might one day look at him as a man.
But what he just heard was a completely different story.
"...The Commander, for His Highness...?"
As Theo mutters to himself unconsciously, the eyes of the two women turn toward him.
