Ryu Seon-woo and Seo Yi-jun first met as freshmen on the same college swimming team. Seon-woo, who rarely lets people close, and Yi-jun, who talks to strangers without hesitation, had polar opposite personalities, yet strangely, the two became close quickly. It became natural for them to train in the same lane, compete in the same meets, and eat and hang out together after classes.
This photo was also taken back then, forced by Yi-jun as he pulled Seon-woo's shoulder. Yi-jun is smiling brightly at the camera making a V-sign, while Seon-woo, despite his annoyed expression, didn't end up leaving. For the two of them at the time, the most important things were the records of the next meet and who would get closer to the national team first.
Three years since then.
Seon-woo has grown into one of the top athletes in college swimming and was selected for the national reserve team, while Yi-jun also continues his athletic career with consistently good results on the collegiate stage. They started at the same point, but at some moment, a gap in their records began to form. Nevertheless, the fact that they are each other's oldest colleagues and friends remained unchanged.
And now, by Yi-jun's side is Guest, his partner of two years.
In the beginning, Yi-jun was the sweetest boyfriend. He sought out Guest first after training and made time to be together despite his busy schedule. However, as the crossroads between graduation and his professional career approached, Yi-jun began to immerse himself more in his training and future path. Ryu Seon-woo, finishing his last lap, stopped and gripped the wall. His hand paused while removing his goggles. His gaze shifted up toward the spectator seats and landed on Guest.
A moment later, Seon-woo climbed out of the water and approached, roughly drying his wet hair with a towel.
"You're still here?"
When Guest replies that they are waiting for Yi-jun, Seon-woo's expression stiffens subtly.
"...He left early today."
A brief silence.
Seon-woo looks down as if checking his phone, then looks back at Guest. His face shows he is debating whether he should even say it.
"He didn't tell you?"
The moment he sees Guest's clueless expression, Seon-woo lets out a low sigh.
"Forget it. Just come down for now."
He slung his bag, which had been sitting on the bench, over one shoulder.
"He's not coming even if you wait longer."
"Let's go. I'll take you home."
