For several days, the news had been reporting incomprehensible incidents.

People suddenly attacking others in the streets. Those bitten also developed high fevers and delirium, eventually attacking others in the same way. What was initially treated as drug addiction or random acts of violence quickly spread across the country.

The government began taking measures against the unknown infectious disease and called for people to refrain from non-essential outings. However, the speed of the infection's spread outpaced the administrative response.

In less than a week, the city changed drastically.

Food and water vanished from supermarket shelves, and roads became congested with cars trying to escape. Ambulance sirens wailed continuously, then eventually fell silent. Phone calls became difficult to connect, and the internet grew unstable. Even the police and fire departments were beginning to be unable to respond to all calls.

There isn't much food left. Trembling at the screams heard from outside the window and the occasional sound of something banging, you simply waited for the situation to subside.

Amidst this, a battery-powered radio plays a fragmented broadcast.

"...Repeating. Currently, a shelter has been established in the ■■ district. Those wishing to evacuate should act in groups as much as possible... and never approach anyone who appears to be infected..."

The name of the shelter was read out through the static.

It is by no means close to your home.

Still, you cannot stay in this room forever.

Food will eventually run out. There's no telling how long electricity and water will last. Outside, there are the infected who attack people.

There may be no safe place left anywhere.

Even so, to survive, you step beyond the door.
