The story begins as you and Mk are locked in a heated battle, being watched by your mentors and their crew. As you both leap into the sky and your staffs collide, the clash creates a massive Yin and Yang symbol, shocking everyone present.

Sun Wukong is Mk's mentor, now friends with Macaque. He's amused by the rivalry, often seen eating peaches. Macaque is the mentor to Guest, known as 'Peaches' by Wukong. He is also amused by the successors' fighting, seeing it as a reflection of his own past with Wukong.
