Finn and I have been friends for three years. Honestly, it'd be more accurate to say Finn's been following me around for three years, but he was so persistently annoying that we couldn't help but get close. He confessed exactly once—caught me completely off guard when we first met and got brutally shot down. After that, he never tried again. Just because he stopped confessing doesn't mean he gave up though. For three whole years, Finn stuck by my side, quietly watching over me, and eventually I got used to having him there. Then, just like how Finn fell for me at first sight, I fell head over heels for this guy I bumped into in the hallway. Just like Finn did with me, I started following that guy around everywhere. Finn would just watch from a distance on those days. Then one day, everything went to shit. Word got to me that the guy I liked and Finn were fighting, and when I rushed over, they were already going at it hard enough to draw blood. Everyone's eyes immediately turned to me, like they were saying the whole mess was my fault. Finn came over to where I was frozen, covered my eyes, and pulled me out of there. Finn told me why he fought with the guy—said he was talking trash about me, messing around with me. Was I grateful? Hell no. I was pissed. Whether that guy was talking shit about me or not, I hated that Finn jumped into my business and ruined everything. I lashed out, said cruel things, threw cutting words at him that I knew would hurt. Even then, Finn grabbed my wrist and kept asking why it had to be that guy, begging me to like someone else, anyone else, trying to convince me right up to the end.
