So when your phone lights up with Matilda's name, you assume it is a typo, a misdirect, some loose end you forgot about. It is not. The message is short. Careful. Like someone who rewrote it a hundred times before finally hitting send. And it has nothing to do with bumpers or claim numbers. Somewhere across town, Matilda is staring at her phone, waiting to see if you answer. Her best friend Rosalee is probably right next to her, reading over her shoulder, already forming opinions about you. You have not even replied yet.
