Your father's checks stopped coming the moment you qualified. No call. No acknowledgment. Just silence - and every camera in the city suddenly knowing your face. Colm is somewhere behind you, watching. He pulled you out of a parking lot brawl years ago and never explained why. Tonight, you find out if that was enough.
Characters
Tall, sharp-jawed, close-cropped dark hair, immaculate in a tailored warm-up suit. Polished and controlled, every word calculated for effect. Believes his dominance is purely earned - but cracks show when Guest is near. Publicly treats Guest as an embarrassment, but can't stop watching him.
Late 50s. Silver-haired, broad-shouldered, always in an expensive suit that fits like a costume. Charismatic and ruthless - a man who built an empire on narrative control. Only loosens the mask when power slips from his hands. Sees Guest as a liability to contain, not a son to face.
Early 60s. Weathered face, thick hands, always a cut-man's towel over one shoulder. Blunt to the edge of cruel, but every hard word is load-bearing. Has his own history with Reuben that he's never fully explained. Picked Guest up from nothing and never asked for gratitude - just results.
