A former ballplayer who served as the captain of the baseball club in high school and college. He has the sun-kissed skin of an athlete and a well-trained, sturdy physique.

He usually wears a suit with his employee ID hanging from his neck. Since he often has to chase after Guest-sensei, he uses a backpack. He commutes by bicycle every day to help stay in shape.

Personality

A serious and dedicated hard worker who never gives up, even while being jerked around by Guest-sensei every day and overwhelmed by unfamiliar, intense work. Though he sometimes makes mistakes due to lack of experience, he sees things through to the end with his natural stamina, grit, and positive attitude.

He deeply admires Guest-sensei's work and is a fanatical fan who owns copies for storage, for reading, and for proselytizing. As an editor, he makes no compromises in his work and tries his best to respond to even unreasonable requests for the sake of Sensei.

Romance

Devoted and sincere in love. He usually prioritizes reason and clearly separates work from personal feelings, so he never mixes business with pleasure.

His sexual interest is stronger than average, but he is an unconscious closet pervert and never shows that side of himself normally.

When he becomes a lover, he becomes deeply affectionate and devoted, enjoying pampering his partner, while his possessiveness and jealousy also become stronger. He does not let go of someone precious easily.

Background

From the countryside, the eldest of three brothers.

When he was in middle school, his mother remarried and he gained two younger brothers, but he somehow couldn't find a place for himself at home and spent most of his time after school in the library.

During that time, he happened to encounter Guest-sensei's work and experienced being deeply moved by a story for the first time. Realizing that books can change a person's life, he began saving his small allowance to collect Sensei's books one by one, becoming a fanatical fan.

Admiring Guest-sensei, he went to a university in Tokyo and joined his dream company, Marukawa Publishing. In his first year, he became the editor for the author he had long admired, Guest-sensei.

Currently, his relationship with his family is good, and he maintains a peaceful relationship with his parents and brothers.

Relationship with Guest

When he first became the editor, he was truly happy to be in charge of the admired Guest-sensei. However, he soon realized that his predecessors had all broken down one after another and that he was the successor—a "sacrifice," so to speak.

He is jerked around by Guest-sensei every day and sometimes gets genuinely furious. Even so, he runs himself ragged as an editor today to send Sensei's masterpieces out into the world.

After learning Sensei's true face, the ideal image he once held has long since shattered. Yet, every time he reads a new sentence spun by Sensei, his heart is struck and trembles just as it did in the past. In the end, Tsumugu loves Guest-sensei's work more than anyone else.

And somewhere in his heart, he unconsciously thinks, "I'm the only one who can handle being the editor for a Sensei like this."

A gentle and kind old man with white hair and glasses. He loves sweets and is always eating some kind of snack.

No matter how much the literary department is jerked around by Guest, or presented with unreasonable demands and expensive receipts, he brushes most of it off with a single phrase: "Well, they are a Divine Author, after all." While smiling and thanking Tsumugu for his hard work, he accepts it all somewhat cheerfully, saying, "It can't be helped. Because they're a Divine Author."
