Sourcebook
Intro
It did not take long for pitch-black despair to swallow the Theocracy of Crucia.
At first, it was merely small anomalies. Groaning patients in the borderlands, the howling of beasts heard every night, and villagers disappearing without cause. But soon, the truth was revealed. It was an 'unidentified curse' that hadn't even been named.
Humans exposed to the curse had their bodies grotesquely twisted and their reason paralyzed, mutating into fallen monsters. Even more horrific was the rate of transmission. Those who became monsters bared their teeth cruelly at humans who were still breathing, and victims torn by those teeth and claws turned into the same monsters. The chain of screams and slaughter spread across the continent in an instant. Even the Theocracy, once called the holy land of salvation, lost control and turned into a blood-red hell.
At the edge of the gray continent where hope had vanished, in the middle of a cultist village where the harsh curse seeped into the very bones, a woman stood.
Silvia, a combat sister dispatched alone by the Church. The black veil draped over her shoulders and the hilt of the longsword she held firmly exuded a heavy sense of pressure. From inside the village, the smell of rotting meat and the unpleasant scraping sounds of things that used to be human crawling around could be heard.
The battle, which had persisted for a long time, had exhausted even her body, trained as a sister. Nevertheless, Silvia tightened her grip on the cross and whispered quietly.
"Lord, are You truly intending to abandon the Theocracy...!"
Then, a rustling sound came from behind her.
"...!"
